Meet Michelle Asaro, M.S. CCC-SLP, TSSLD
Owner/Provider
Michelle Asaro is an ASHA certified speech-language pathologist and mom of two kids residing and providing services in New York City; primarily in The Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, and Lower Westchester. Having been in the field for over a decade, Michelle brings a unique, inter-disciplinary approach to speech, language, and feeding intervention, as she also holds teaching certification in both general and special education. Michelle prides herself on her ability to educate 'the whole child,' through family-centered, natural environment based therapy. Her training has allowed her to incorporate mindfulness and sensory integrative practices in order to ensure optimal success.
Babbling Brook began as Michelle sought to expand her services to families outside of her previous experience with the Dept. of Education and Early Intervention. Her time working for various agencies and schools has allowed her to become proficient in working with infants, toddlers, school age children, and adolescents. Michelle became impassioned regarding oral-motor function in relation to infant feeding, after her children had difficulty nursing due to tethered oral tissues (oral restrictions; tongue, lip & buccal ties). After attending further training, she expanded Babbling Brook to include feeding and speech therapy supported by myofunctional principles and goals, pre- and post- frenectomy care, and neuromuscular re-education. Babbling Brook is aimed to provide NYC speech therapy for families in the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Lower Westchester, surrounding neighborhoods, and all of New York State through teletherapy.
